It all started with manifest journaling...

Towards the end of 2023, I was browsing TikTok and came across this concept of "Manifest Journaling." A method of writing down your aspirations in the past tense throughout the day to reinforce your goals.

I decided to give it a shot. 3 times a day I wrote a myriad of phrases. One of them being...

"I travel internationally often."

I wrote this not knowing how that would be possible.

With what money?

With what time?

In truth, I wasn't sure if anything would happen but I enjoyed the clarity and focus it gave me for the year. So, I made a video on my YouTube Channel and a series on Instagram telling others about my process and how to create their phrases.

Then things started ✨happening✨

​By March, I had partnered with a company to launch my first group trip to Costa Rica. Juntos En Costa Rica is officially a go!

Myself, Mr. Hallease, and 14 other people (so far) will spend 6 days together August 24-30.

We'll snorkel. We'll see turtles. I'm so hyped.

I have 7 spots left and the trip officially closes July 5th.

Come vibe and kick off the Virgo season with me and dope people.

Seriously, they're so great. We've already had one intro call 🥹

Also, The South African Tourism Board opened up their applications for a US Hosted Media Trip to coincide with the South Africa Travel Indaba, one of the largest business-to-business travel conferences on the continent.

Not only would I have the opportunity to visit a completely new country but I'd get the chance to meet with other country's Tourism Boards and pitch myself as a filmmaker and creative.

Suddenly, my statement was becoming true

I tell you this to say, don't be afraid to dream big and manifest the life you want for yourself.

We're almost halfway through 2024, now is a great time to regroup and assess where you are and where you want to go.

I'll be covering some of my favorite moments from my 16-day trip to South Africa in future emails and across my socials, but in this guide is a little something extra.

I've included two email templates that you can use or rework to pitch yourself to brands and travel entities.

So many of the opportunities I've gotten as a creative have been because I wasn't afraid to send a cold email or set up a phone call, and if I can give one piece of advice I've learned so far from my first press trip it's this:

Don't be afraid to cold call a tourism board and ask about their goals before sending your cold email.

The cold call happened in November 2023. They reached out to formally let me apply for this press trip in March 2024. This process will be a marathon of consistency.

Consistently reaching out.
Consistently pitching.
Then when you're given the opportunity...
Consistently delivering.
